Introducing... Life, Shuffled (Part 1?)

Well... I bought one year ago the end of next July. I love it, but I've known since I started blogging that the domain— the specific brand— wouldn't come with me once I graduated college.  That said, I know graduation isn't here yet, but I feel that now is the right time. So, allow me to introduce Life, Shuffled, a blog for the city-based millennial and a resource for the ambitious writer. It's not completely finished yet (a few very minor design issues, and there's also the fact that Facebook locked me out for some reason in the midst of my Instagram-for-business escapades...), but I'm getting there.

I've been on the fence about when I would go through with the rebrand. This past week, I met up with a fellow blogger (and a very talented, successful one, at that). I mentioned that I see myself taking my blog in a specific direction, but that I was going to wait until my domain name is up and I'm nearer to the end of my college career. (I've only been blogging since June, after all— December 1st is my six-month blogiversary!). She asked me why. That's a good question, and one that I thought I had the answer to. "I don't want to regret it." She made a very valid point that resonated with me: why shouldn't I establish now where I want to take my online brand or blog or whatever it is that I'm doing at this IP address (my words, not hers) so that, when the time does come, I'm not scrambling to build up/create something that doesn't yet exist? I've been asking myself this question for a few days, along with: "Shouldn't I do this before (if) my blog really gets off the ground?"

I decided that I should, and more importantly, that I'm going to. So, going forward, you'll find me (and all of my previously published content) here, at My new site will be different in some ways, but the same in others. Life, Shuffled is for the city-based millennial and the ambitious writer. It will (eventually) capture, in writing, a 21-year-old college grad's (me!) leap into the "real world," as she moves out of one big city and into another. You should expect, as always, a #MusicMonday post every Monday, and much of what I already post: everyday life content (advice, career, college, blogging, inspiration, travel, recipes, etc.), and, the newest of the bunch, a tab for writing (!!). Basically, I'm going to continue to share my experiences and my story— adventures, interests, discoveries, advice, favorite songs, the best brownie recipes, tips to improve your every day and your writing— while my life is being shuffled around and as I embark on this next chapter as a 20-something. For now, my life won't be as "shuffled" because I've still got about a year before the big huge changes, but the same idea applies.

Where does the "part 1?" come into play? I have another big plan that I will include the details of on this blog, but that will take some additional time and resources to be completed. I wasn't sure whether I should wait until that aspect was finished before moving forward, but alas, I decided to put it all (or what I have of it, I guess) out there. If you're an existing reader, I hope you'll stay with me for this new adventure, and if you're a new reader, I hope you'll join me on this journey.

If you're still with me at this point, first of all, thank you. Secondly, make sure to check back tomorrow for the first day of #JingleBlogs. I'll be sharing my Christmas playlist!
