Music Monday: X Ambassadors at Revolution Live

I'm really excited to write my first "Music Monday" post! This weekly feature might include things like concert reviews, new album or single spotlights, bands I'm listening to, playlists, music business/career stuff, and any other musical musings. Anyway, I mentioned Thursday in my "Right Now I'm..." post that I was going to see X Ambassadors on Thursday night. Foreign Air and The Moth & The Flame opened for them, respectively, at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale.

I wasn't really sure what to expect because I wasn't that familiar with any of the bands' music, but they were all so good, especially X Ambassadors. Easily one of the best shows I've been to, and I've been to a number of them. XA's vocalist had so much great energy on stage and one heck of a range. He played the saxophone at times, which I thought was awesome, and he was just incredibly positive and seemed like a really cool dude. And when they played "Gorgeous" and "Jungle" back-to-back... it was a religious experience. They got really heavy with the bass and drums, and it was just amazing (please excuse my use of the same adjectives/lack of any better adjectives). Even the song "Unsteady," which I hadn't been a huge fan of prior, was great live (everything is better live, really) with the entire crowd singing along.

We got pretty soaked beforehand because it was pouring out (totally stepped in a huge puddle and my shoes were wet the whole time hehe), but it was still a great night. I didn't take any pictures because I generally don't when it comes to concerts; I find that it's a lot more enjoyable and the experience as a whole is better when you're just in the music and the moment and not trying to capture it digitally. Would most definitely recommend checking out X Ambassadors' music and going to a show when they're on tour again.
