Coffee Table Essentials Challenge ft. Chairish

Chairish recently reached out to me and asked me if I was interested in sharing my coffee table essentials. Chairish is a way for people to buy and sell their vintage furniture and decor, and they have tons of great pieces, like the stunning Sarried 2-Drawer Brass Trunk, featured here.

Coffee tables can be tricky to style because there are so many options. Candles, coffee table books, plants, bowls.... Clutter and too many useless objects are definitely not what you want the focal point of your living space to be, so what makes it onto the table and what just gets tabled? See below for my picks for a minimal, modern-rustic look.

+ Candles are a necessity and these rustic birch candle holders are the perfect complement to the shiny, more industrial brass trunk.

+ Every coffee table needs coasters! I really liked the more naturalistic look of simple slate coasters with the trunk, but wood or matte black marble coasters would also work well.

+ I think that every tabletop needs just one fun, nonfunctional piece, and this veneer sphere does the trick. Similar metallic objects are pretty popular right now, but this sphere is something a little different and contrasts much better with the shiny brass trunk.

+ Again with the natural + industrial (see the theme here?). You usually can't go wrong with a plant. I love wooden plant holders, but I didn't want to overdo it with the wood, so I chose a succulent in a simple white pot. The clean pop of green and white ties the whole look together.

Thanks to Chairish for including me in the challenge!

  1. That is a seriously gorgeous piece! Also, really liked those coasters - different and so chic!

  2. Isn't it?! Wish my apartment was big enough for something like it ;) Thanks for stopping by!
