The Daily Grind

It's hard to go back to a routine or schedule after a break or a vacation. If you don't find it even a little have an extraordinary gift. With the end of the semester (kind of) on the horizon, I am so anxious to finish up the year here and move on to the next chapter of my life. Anyway, getting through long stretches of time in situations or settings in which you are unhappy is particularly difficult, so I like to measure the days by events or activities that I'm looking forward to. Current measurements: Good Friday is nine days from now; 10 days after that I have a concert to attend; 16 days after that is the midnight premier of The Avengers: Age of Ultron (yessssss); 11 days after that is Concert No. 2; and three days after that is my final exam.

Kind of a weird way to look at things (not exactly "living in the moment" or whatever), but looking at 53 days in much smaller increments like this works for me. And I am hopeful that once my time here does finally come to a close, I will have each day to look forward to!
